Challenges

The main challenge of O0 Design was to better understand their financial performance and overall financial health. Due to the lack of reports and metrics, founders needed a system to track their expenses and make proper financial reporting.

They also needed to improve their approach towards planning project capacity and pricing policy. The team realized that their current way of doing things didn’t paint a clear picture of the money coming in and going out.

And get this, the GM handled all the payments, and invoices. Communication regarding payment planning was only conducted through personal messages.

Solutions

Automated reporting, pipeline‑driven planning, project profitability tracking, a budget‑tied payment calendar, and an all‑in‑one dashboard turned scattered data into a controlled finance system.

Financial reporting

Fuelfinance has implemented a system for collecting all actual data from different data sources in a correct and fast manner. 80% of all transactions were categorized automatically based on managerial and GAAP reporting policies. It allowed Founders to get their monthly reports before the fifth day of the following month.

Planning model

So how did we manage to build an accurate planning system? We used pipeline analytics to build accurate revenue planning and connect it with hiring and expense planning. And guess what? Keeping up with increasing demand helped Ozero.Design to make more revenue.

Project profitability

The team at Fuel set up a system to understand how much money each project or business area was making. We assigned the time employees spent on different projects, dividing the company’s expenses among them. This helped O0 Design determine how much money each project made – simple as that! This system also helped identify the employees and teams that were contributing the most profit to the company.

Expense approval

To reduce the time spent on operational financial tasks, Fuelfinance constructed a Payment Calendar system where payment requests from various employees are collected and connected with the budget. So, it’s very easy to track all payments and avoid the cash gap.

All-in-one Dashboard

We created a consolidated dashboard that gathers all the essential business metrics in a user-friendly format. So, Ozero.Design uses this dashboard on a weekly basis for big-shot meetings with the executives and board members. It’s a super transparent way to see how all the different teams are doing and getting to their results \ goals. Plus, the Fuelfinance crew gives extra tips all the time to make decisions even better.
