# Fuelfinance > Fuelfinance (Fuel) is the first multi-agent platform for finance. Specialised AI agents run recurring finance work — cash reconciliation, close review and controlling, consolidation, forecasting, treasury and board reporting — on a schedule, while the finance team reviews exceptions and approves every final action. Every customer gets a finance engineer who builds the workflows with them. Built by CFOs, auditors and finance engineers for the finance teams of US mid-market and enterprise companies: multi-entity, ERP-based and high-volume. This is the main Fuelfinance website at fuelfinance.me. For questions, contact info@fuelfinance.me. Over six years the team built financial systems for 500+ companies and learned where finance teams lose their time. That experience became Fuel's multi-agent platform: agents that do the recurring work, a data and context layer that makes their output reliable, and finance engineers who deploy it with each team. Fuel runs its own finance on Fuel. Fuel's stated mission is to unlock billions of dollars in GDP by letting AI handle routine finance work so finance teams can focus on the insights that move companies forward. Fuelfinance serves two audiences: - **Primary: established US mid-market and enterprise companies** — typically $100M+ in revenue, multiple legal entities, an ERP such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct, thousands of bank and ledger transactions a day, and board-grade monthly reporting. Buyers are the CFO, VP Finance and Controller, who want reconciliation, close review, consolidation and board reporting to run as governed agent workflows, with their team reviewing exceptions instead of matching rows. - **Secondary: US companies with $20–100M in revenue and an in-house finance team of 2–15 people** (CFO, Controller, Head of Finance) who need the same workflows without adding headcount. Fuel's 4-week pilot, with a finance engineer included, is built for teams of this size as well. The buying committee usually includes the CFO as sponsor, the Controller or Head of Finance as the internal champion, and IT or security reviewing data access, permissions and the audit log. Industry focus: manufacturing and distribution (multi-entity close, plant and intercompany accruals, high-volume bank reconciliation), SaaS (revenue recognition, ARR, payout reconciliation) and professional services (utilization, project margin, fixed-fee revenue checks). Fuel also works with partners who serve these companies: CPA and outsourced accounting firms, fractional CFO firms, and ERP implementation partners. Agents run recurring finance work.** Each agent does one finance task — matching bank lines to the ledger, checking that payroll rolls forward, reconciling intercompany balances, decomposing a P&L, tying out the balance sheet. Agents are chained into workflows triggered by finance events (the daily bank feed, month-end close, the board meeting) and escalate to people only when judgment is needed. **2. A data and context layer makes the output reliable.** All sources — ERP, banks, billing, payroll, CRM — are normalised in one warehouse before any agent reads them. A context layer of 19 parts (company structure, chart of accounts, business rules, revenue model, accounting policies, KPIs, close history and more) tells agents how this specific company works, and stays current from every close, call and Slack thread. **3. A finance engineer deploys it with your team.** Most finance teams need a partner, not just a tool. A Fuel finance engineer maps the process, builds and tests the workflows on past periods, runs the first month alongside the team and trains them to control and extend the agents. Teams can also build workflows themselves from the Agents Library. ## The four agent teams - **Controlling** — turns month-end into a close the team trusts: 8 checks (completeness, system changes, revenue and expense recognition, payroll register match, intercompany, balance sheet reconciliation and tie-out, cross-statement check) and 2 human gates, with an orchestrator that halts the run on any critical finding. - **Treasury** — closes cash every night: every bank line matched to the ledger each morning, multi-bank and multi-entity cash position, a 13-week direct-method cash forecast, runway alerts, AR aging and collections, proposed payment runs. - **Analysis** — explains why numbers moved before anyone asks: P&L and cash-flow decomposition, variance drill-down to transactions, ratios, unit economics and plan vs actual, in about 10 minutes. - **Forecasting** — keeps the forecast current from live data and recalculates base, upside and downside scenarios, with a written narrative. ## Example workflows - **Cash reconciliation** — every bank line matched to the ERP each morning; breaks explained; people review only the exceptions. - **Close review** — agents pre-check every account before controllers sign off; findings go to an Excel workbook where accountants mark each one, and the next run reads those decisions back. - **Multi-entity consolidation** — balances matched across entities, eliminations prepared, consolidated statements in one view across currencies. - **Board and management reporting** — agents gather actuals, calculate KPIs, draft commentary in the company's voice, fill the existing template and tie out every number to its source. - **Revenue recognition review** — every contract read against invoices and billing to find errors and missed terms. - **Invoice-to-cash** — invoices drafted from contracts and billing data for approval, collections prioritised, cash applied, DSO tracked. - **Weekly CFO dashboard** — runway, forecast, pipeline and alerts posted to Teams or Slack every Monday. ## How Fuel works: five layers 1. **Data** — every source normalised in one warehouse and lake. When two systems disagree, a rule decides once which one wins. 2. **Context** — 19 layers describing how the company works, each fact tagged Confirmed, Likely, Inferred or Missing. Agents never invent a missing number. 3. **Agents** — 35+ single-task agents from the library, or custom agents built for company-specific processes. 4. **Workflows** — agents chained in order, with human approval gates. 5. **Finance events** — the bank feed, month-end close or board meeting start the right workflows on schedule. ## Accuracy and governance - **Metric Engine** — every number is computed as deterministic code, never guessed by a language model. - **Three run metrics** — coverage, completeness and confidence, verified at setup on 3–5 past periods (to 99–100% agreement with signed-off numbers) and reported on every run. - **Read-only by default** — agents draft journal entries, invoices and payment runs in ERP, billing or CRM systems, but nothing posts until a person approves it. Payment runs are proposed, never executed. - **Permissions** — role-based control over who can view, run, edit or approve each workflow; a security controller checks permissions and data exposure on every run. - **Audit log** — data used, changes made, assumptions, approver and timestamp, answerable months later for auditors. Every finding links to its source transactions. - **Data handling** — customer data is never used to train external AI models. ## How Fuel differs from building on a general AI assistant Fuel runs on Anthropic's Claude models, so the model itself is not the difference. Connecting Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot directly to an ERP gives a model transactions without context: it does not know the company's revenue policy, chart of accounts logic or past rulings, and it calculates with a language model. Fuel adds what a do-it-yourself build has to create and maintain: a normalised data warehouse, 19 layers of maintained context, workflows tested on past periods, deterministic calculation, approval gates and an audit log — plus a finance engineer to build and maintain it. Teams can build on Fuel themselves or with a finance engineer. ## Getting started Bring one time-consuming finance workflow. In a 4-week pilot on the company's real data: 1. A finance engineer maps the process and builds the company context in an interview of about one hour. 2. Workflows are built from the Agents Library or custom-made, then tested on 3–5 past periods until they match signed-off numbers. 3. The first month runs alongside the team, with time saved and cycle speed measured. Library workflows can run the same day; two workflows are live within 4 weeks. No AI engineers are needed on the finance team. ## Pricing Packages are tailored to the company: a fixed annual platform fee with the starting workflows agreed upfront, model access included rather than billed per token, no limit on questions, and a finance engineer included for every customer.
